The Minnesota Twins have had a great career in Major League Baseball over the past century, beginning with their creation in 1901 under the name of the "Washington Senators." They played in Washington, D.C. until 1960, when the team moved to Minnesota and changed names. The new Minnesota Twins derived their name from to the twin cities, Minnesota and St Paul, from where they draw most of their fans. The Minnesota Twins currently play at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, where they have played since 1982. The Twins have had the success of hosting six Hall-of-Famers on the team, including first basemen Rod Carew and Harmon Killebrew in addition to outfielder Kirby Puckett. The Minnesota Twins' illustrious franchise victories include three World Series Championships, six American League pennants, five LCS appearances, and eight division titles.

The Minnesota Twins have started off this season great. They currently hold a 34-36 record which puts them in 2nd place atop the American League Central division. With the loss of Golden Glove Award winning outfielder Torii Hunter and All-Star pitcher Johan Santana, the team looks to rebuild this season around a number of talented players still on this roster. Young first baseman Justin Morneau has already experienced amazing success in his short career, winning the Silver Slugger Award, being voted the 2006 AL MVP and to the All-Star team last year. Tickets are selling fast due to the early success of the Twins this season, and fans expect another playoff run at the World Series Championship that has eluded them recently.
